Dr R. John Addleson M.B. Ch.B, Dip. Mid. COG

Dr. John Addleson has a total of 34 years of experience in all disciplines of General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Surgery and Pediatrics with a special interest in Regenerative Medicine, Complimentary Medicine and Alternative therapies (including Chelation Therapy and Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy.

He has been resident in the Cayman Island since 1989 and has been in private practice on Grand Cayman for 22 years. Dr Addleson was granted Caymanian Status in 2003.

Dr. Addleson is the founder of The International Medical Group.

He qualified at the University of Cape Town (South Africa) in 1978, with the degree of M.B.Ch.B. He also holds a Diploma in Midwifery from the College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (Dip. Mid. COG).

After his rotating internship in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics & Gynecology, in rural Southern Africa, he then served 2 years of compulsory military service (during the war in Angola) serving in Namibia and Southern Angola. During his military service he held the rank of Lieutenant and he gained enormous experience in emergency Military Medicine and Combat Surgery.

After 2 years in private medical practice in Port Elizabeth (South Africa), Dr. Addleson moved to Canada where he owned and operated a private medical clinic in rural Saskatchewan for 5 years.

During this time he obtained both the Canadian Licentiate in Medicine from the College of Canada (LMCC) as well as the United States Federal Licensing Exam (FLEX). He is registered to practice in British Columbia, Canada, where he has worked both in Vancouver and Victoria.

Dr. Addleson is passionate about offering patients the best approach to treatments and health maintenance available (whether it is local or overseas) and educating them on all the facilities, options and services available to them.

He was appointed as the Medical Director of HealthLink (Cleveland Clinic International) to foster relationships and affiliations with physicians in other jurisdictions.

His years in Clinical practice have exposed him to many International and local patients seeking comprehensive health evaluation, risk factor management, treatment, advice and future health maintenance, in a multidisciplinary approach.

Brandi Propas, MHSc, RD

Brandi Propas, MHSc, RD is a Registered Dietitian. Brandi received a Bachelor’s Degree of Applied Sciences from Ryerson University and then went on to complete a Master’s of Health Sciences at the University of Toronto in 2002. She received her designation as a Registered Dietitian that same year. Dietitians are highly trained experts in the field of nutrition and provide counseling services for nutrition-related diseases, as well as work with individuals and groups to promote and improve their overall health and nutritional well-being.

As a member of Dietitians of Canada and the College of Dietitians of Ontario, Brandi worked in Toronto in a variety of settings including Public Health and Community Health Centers and was the manager of a Diabetes Education Centre. In Toronto Brandi also taught at Ryerson University and Seneca College.

Since her arrival to Cayman in 2006 Brandi has worked as a Dietitian in hospital seeing both in-patients and outpatients as well as in food service management. Brandi provides nutritional counseling to both adults and children for a variety of conditions including but not limited to: obesity/weight loss management, diabetes, pre-diabetes and gestational diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and triglycerides, gastrointestinal disorders (including constipation, diverticulitis, IBS, GERD), food allergies and intolerances and pre and post natal nutrition counseling. Brandi has also been able to continue sharing her knowledge of nutrition with others though her work as an adjunct instructor at University College of the Cayman Islands.
